Maritza Velasquez-Paolucci

Maritza Velasquez-Paolucci is an Academic Advisor for the Department of Communication. She is a proud first-generation college graduate of immigrant parents from Colombia. Maritza earned a B.A. in Communication with a focus in Public Relations and a minor in International Business Communication from East Carolina University where she graduated magna cum laude. Prior to becoming Terp staff, Maritza served as a college counselor for local high schools Don Bosco Cristo Rey, DeMatha Catholic, and Elizabeth Seton. She also worked as an admission professional for North Carolina State University and East Carolina University.

In addition to her love of assisting students attain their higher education goals, Maritza adores children and has three energetic little ones of her own. You will likely see Maritza and her family attending campus events and dining at their favorite spot in College Park, Ledo Pizza.
